The race season in Sabac traditionally starts on Orthodox Easter. The tradition of gallop races in the Macva region in west Serbia is longer than 200 years. Over 150 horses are in training at the hippodrome Sabac at the moment. In the villages of this region, the greatest pride is to be the owner of the winning horse at the Sabac Hippodrome. That passion is fantastic and you will hardly find an example somewhere like in the region of Macva that all the inhabitants of some villages are interested in horse races.

In recent years, several winners of the classics races were train in Sabac with trainer Sendeković Bojan. In the stable of this family, there are still a respectable number of mostly imported horses that will compete in the classics and other races in Serbia.

There will be a total of 6 races on the first day. We have selected the 2 most interesting for you.

“Uskršnja trka” is local Listed race for 4yo+ horses over 1.700m. Eiskoning(GER) last year winner of the race with the highest prize fund in Serbia in Zobnatica (21.000eur) over 2.400m. With its sixteen-year-old owner in the saddle he will have a serious task against the newly imported Night Moment(GER), Spencers Son(GB) and Double Triomphe(GER).

“Prolećna trka” Local Listed race with only 5 participants but will be very interesting.
